Bluesky سروسز کا موازنہ

Bluesky began in 2019 as an initiative funded by Twitter under then-CEO Jack Dorsey, designed to research and build an open, decentralized standard for social media. The project was heavily inspired by the "protocols, not platforms" architectural philosophy, which envisioned public online discourse operating more like open web protocols rather than closed corporate databases. In 2021, cryptocurrency engineer and activist Jay Graber was selected to lead the effort, formally incorporating the entity as an independent public benefit corporation called Bluesky, PBC. This structure ensured that the initiative remained autonomous and capable of developing its underlying networking foundation, the Authenticated Transfer Protocol, free from direct corporate parent oversight.

Following Twitter's acquisition by Elon Musk in late 2022, Bluesky severed operational ties with the parent platform and continued development as an independent venture. The service launched its consumer microblogging interface in early 2023 under an invite-only model, using this restricted rollout to refine network infrastructure, account management, and content moderation systems. Bluesky opened to general public registration in February 2024 and enabled network federation, allowing self-hosted servers to interoperate with the main network. Jack Dorsey departed the board of directors in mid-2024, leaving the corporate governance of the public benefit corporation centered around Graber and open-web advocates like Mike Masnick and Jabber creator Jeremie Miller.

Today, Bluesky functions as a decentralized microblogging network built around short-form text posts, multimedia attachments, reposts, and threaded conversations. The architecture provides custom algorithmic feeds, composable moderation services, and domain-based handle verification, which allows users and organizations to tie their profiles directly to existing domain names via DNS records. For institutional and promotional communication, the network serves as a real-time public distribution channel, enabling direct audience subscription, news syndication, and interoperable identity portability across any third-party client built on the underlying open protocol.
